No stamp-duty and registration rules in force on the date are recorded on Finobazaar for this place, so no estimate is shown. Check the charges with the state's registration department or the sub-registrar.

An indicative estimate from the rules recorded on Finobazaar, not an official quotation. Rates, concessions, the value used and rounding are decided by the registration department; confirm the final charges with the sub-registrar before you pay.

Frequently asked questions

How is the stamp duty and registration estimate calculated?

Each charge recorded for the state is worked out in turn. A percentage charge is applied to the value base its rule names, usually the higher of the agreement value and the DLC value. A fixed charge is added as it is. Some charges are a percentage of another charge (for example, a surcharge on stamp duty). Any minimum or maximum in the rule is then applied, and the total is the sum of the lines.

Which government charges are included in the estimate?

Only the government charges recorded for the state you choose: usually stamp duty and the registration fee, and any surcharge or cess the state levies. A charge that is not recorded is not guessed.

Does the estimate include lawyer, document writer or agent fees?

No. The estimate covers government charges only. Fees for a lawyer, document writer, associate or agent, e-stamp service charges, home loan charges and brokerage are private fees, so they are not included. Ask the person you hire for their fee in writing.

Which details change the stamp duty estimate?

The state (and district, where a rule is recorded for it), the agreement value and the DLC value always matter. Some states also charge different rates for the property type or for women buyers; the form asks for these only where the rules differ.

Where can I confirm the current charges?

With the Sub-Registrar office where the document will be registered, or on the state registration and stamps department's website. Rates and concessions change by notification; each line of the estimate shows the effective date and notification recorded with it.
