Frequently asked questions

What is a DLC rate?

The DLC (District Level Committee) rate is the minimum value per unit that the state government fixes for land and buildings in an area. Rajasthan calls it the DLC rate; other states use names such as circle rate, guideline value or ready reckoner rate. Stamp duty is usually charged on the higher of this value and the sale price.

How is the DLC value calculated?

DLC value = the DLC rate per unit × your area, after your area is converted into the unit the rate is notified in (for example, square metres or hectares). The calculator picks the rate for the exact place and category you choose, including the distance band from the road where the rate list has one.

Is the DLC value the market price of the property?

No. It is a government minimum used for stamp duty and registration. The actual sale price can be higher or lower, and this calculator's result is an indication, not an official valuation.

Where can I verify the DLC rate?

Confirm the rate with the Sub-Registrar office for the property, or on the state registration department's website, before you pay stamp duty.
