How is the health coverage gap worked out?

Gap = the cover you choose − (your personal cover + employer or group cover), never below zero. The page also shows the gap if the employer cover ends. You can enter the cover yourself or work it out as the cost of one major hospital stay × the number of stays to plan for.

Does the calculator say how much health cover I need?

No. It compares the cover you choose with what you have. The right amount depends on hospital costs where you live, your family's health and the policy terms.
