What regular investments could grow to at a return you assume, with the total invested and the gain. Returns are not guaranteed.
How the value is worked out
Value = P × ((1 + r)^n − 1) ÷ r × (1 + r)
P is the amount invested each time, r the assumed annual return divided by the number of instalments a year, and n the number of instalments. Each instalment is taken as paid at the start of its period, so it earns for the whole period.
Mutual fund and other market-linked returns are not guaranteed and are never the same every year. The calculator shows what a steady assumed return would give; it does not forecast any fund. Expense ratios, exit loads, taxes and inflation are not included.
This is an illustration from the rate you assume. It is not an offer, a forecast or investment advice, and it does not promise any return. The bank, post office or fund's own terms decide the actual amount.
